Herbal medicine is an essential part of traditional medicine, not only in China, but all over the world. However, along with geographical differences, traditional medicine may also differ in cultural and theoretical background.

In this seminar we focus on a so called ‘Western’ scope of herbal medicine.

There will be not only an introduction of some traditional ‘European’ scopes on herbal medicine and on phytopharmacology, but also of a range of important practical examples and of principles and practice of homeopathy.

By the end of this seminar, you will:

• be familiar with western scopes on herbal medicine;
• can describe some major differences between traditional Chinese herbal medicine and western herbal medicine;
• be able to explain the difference between homeopathy and herbal medicine;
• know a set of valuable western herbal and homeopathic remedies and their practical indications.
